Writing the project proposal (CTL)

If you haven’t already (e.g., during your SWF meeting), be sure to get the OK from your supervisor to pursue the project, because it does have implications for your SWF next year. You can then use the information you’ve been preparing during my monthly posts to complete the application form for your SoTL project (there are two ways to apply, but I prefer the form, so that is what I will focus on for this post). Each section of the CTL SoTL application form is related to one of my posts this year, as outlined below:

Research team (Feb)

Research question (Oct + Nov)

Rationale (Oct+Nov)

Initial hypothesis (Nov+Dec+Jan)

Project description, including course(s), semesters (Dec + Jan)

Methodology & study design (Dec)

Ethics (Feb)

Resources/budget (Jan)

References (Oct)

Once your document is complete, send it to Nora or Claire to approve, and then submit it to CTL before the deadline. While you wait for your approval, complete the TCPS2 (if you haven’t yet) and continue working on your REB application. I am happy to meet with you to look at your REB documents and/or the CTL application.
